Who We Are
At Community UMC, we are a family oriented church and community of faith growing in love. We strive to be a place for everyone! Below are five areas of missional focus that guide us in our mission of being a loving community that grows in God’s grace together.
Multiply Jesus Followers by equipping existing Christ-followers to multiply.
Champion Children and Youth by prioritizing the spiritual, mental, physical, social, economic, and relational welfare of children, youth, and young people in our churches, communities, nation, and the world.
Pursue and Embrace Diversity by intentionally becoming more diverse, equitable and inclusive, so that everyone is interconnected, valued respected, and included.
Maximize Care and Healing by prioritizing care and healing within congregations and with people in hurting communities.
Tell Our Story by effectively communicating our vision, mission, values, priorities, and commitments and by passionately and effectively sharing the Gospel and our testimonies.
The United Methodist Church
The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
A United Methodist is someone who joins in that mission by putting faith and love into action. We believe that God loves all people, and that we share in expressing that love. So the United Methodist tradition emphasizes God’s grace and in serving others. We believe that Jesus Christ is the fullest expression of God’s love–showing us the fullness of God’s care through Jesus’ teachings, death and resurrection.
